These are monobloc units, using the classic 2A3 pure triode valve.They are styled to match the preamplifier with an aluminium frame 25mm thick; coated with seven layers of high gloss lacquer, giving a quality of finish matched by only the best pianos. Melody make use of the best quality audiophile components money can buy; including Jensen capacitors. All of the components are hard wired and soldered by hand.
The rated output is eighteen watts per channel, in pure class A triode mode....ideally, we recommend speakers with an efficiency of 92db or above, although these monoblocs will drive a surprising number of real world speakers. They provide the wonderfully warm natural sound that only pure triode circuits can produce. Voice is pure and natural, low level detail is beautifully captured while dynamics are wide and powerful but never harsh or aggressive.. There is a liquid purity to the sound of the Pure Black 22 monoblocs....
