This unit uses perhaps the world's favourite valve...the classic EL 34; a valve used by many of the greatest manufacturers such as Audio Research, Jadis, Cary, Air Tight and Macintosh. Our Astro Black Forty offers 45 watts per channel; in a neat integrated package with five inputs.
Two 6SN7 valves are used at the input and two more at the output. We used a 101D triode as a power regulator. The result is a sound which retains that glorious valve richness while still offering great transparency and the ability to drive a wide range of speakers, ideally between 88db and 93db. |
